This model replaced a ten year old KitchenAid that was the worst disappointment of my appliance buying life. We’ve had Whirlpool DU1030XTXS Dishwasher about a month and it’s made us realize the KA didn’t work right from the beginning. We’re happy with it.

This baby washes dishes in about half an hour, drying takes longer, but the KA took two hours. This model heats the water superbly; a comforting cloud of steam wafts out when the door is first opened, and the best part is that even with an extended warranty, the whole thing cost about half of the price of the miserable KitchenAid.

The silverware baskets have slotted covers, so forks have to be stood tines-up (a major bone of contention in our household). I’m happy about that feature, though no one else is.
